A Hair Conditioner From Your Kitchen?

Way too often we fall for hair products with alluring labels like “Nourishing” & “Shine” or even “Natural” which come along with their preservatives and other chemical additives.  While that may not be lethal (in the short-term) it usually worsens the case for those with sensitive, damaged or brittle hair.  These products are also usually a lot more expensive than if you were to DIY – depending on your location you might be thinking “so are avocados” but at least they can be grown!  Yes, it’s actually quite easy, but that’s another story.

Avocados are known to stimulate hair growth and prevent hair loss. This amazing fruit not only works as a shampoo and conditioner, but you can improve your hair by eating it as well. Olive oil has been used for centuries as a natural hair conditioner, strengthening it and leaving a shine. Banana helps tame frizz while honey smells great and works to soften the hair. Eggs are a great source of iron and are also high in protein. Aren’t we underestimating these simple everyday ingredients? This might require a little more work, but hey, it’s worth it!
